Bluehour
Twice a day when the sun is just below the horizon we experience Blue Hour - where the subject of our vision becomes enveloped in blue. This collection is an extension of the incoherence and fluidity of the visual experience that happens during this hour. Themes of phenomenology within art are emphasised - the relationship between art and viewer is questioned, as through experiencing the art one fuses with it. Because of this, the pieces’ realisations and perspectives are able to alter your own lens of perception.
Individual frames of time are digitally captured and then synthesised together with glimpses of unknown spaces through that same lens. It is in stillness that the natural occurrence of Blue Hour can be observed, or as in here through the digital lens - creating room for visual deception. This deception raises the questions of where? and, when?
The incoherence and imperfection of the pieces capture the volatile nature of this realm, the still images being amalgamations of points in time and space. Through conscious observation unity between viewer and subject is formed. This perception, glimpses of potential, light and shadows, place the viewer at the centre.
